Is surgery planned to take place on the abdominal aorta, limb arteries or carotid arteries?

Does the patient have a history of severe neurologic dysfunction?

Does the patient have active infectious endocarditis?

Does the patient have a history of previous cardiac surgery that involved opening the pericardium?

Did the patient have ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation before surgery?

Was cardiac resuscitation or preoperative cardiac massage performed prior to reaching the operating room?
